BOOK AND PAINTINGS: EXPERIENCING OXFORD
Ian Davis, an architect, was in practice for twelve years in the UK and USA before spending twenty years lecturing in the School of Architecture in Oxford Brookes University (formerly Oxford Polytechnic).
From the early 1970’s he embarked on a new career studying and advising the UN and Governments on Shelter following Disasters and Disaster Risk Management, involving travel to over 45 countries.
In parallel, he has developed an interest in watercolour painting, writing and lecturing about Oxford and its rich architecture and landscape. This book brings together his lectures, walking tours, articles, paintings and drawings resulting from work that spans almost fifty years. The book is illustrated with over 100 drawings and paintings of Oxford. The originals, aside from those loaned, are all available for purchase. These can be seen here.
